Apologies in advance for not having looked too much into the demo/software, but I have a question. Is this usable/workable for individual sports (boxing/MMA, for example)? Seems like it would be, but not sure....also, do you need to input a full schedule/league in advance, or would you be able to build as events happen (again, I am thinking individual sports, where you may not know a lengthy schedule in advance)?
Yes, it is usable for individual sports as long as those are a one against the other. You would enter in Fighters just like Teams. Then set up a Week as a "bout" and then set each match as part of the bout.... not hard to do at all.. and no, you don't have to set a full lengthy schedule in advance. For example, during the NFL season, I added in sets of weeks by quarter instead of all at once at the beginning of the season. You can add weeks at anytime.
What is the difference between Pickem and Sportsbook?
Pickem is a POOL system that allows members to pick winners of matchups on a weekly basis. Each "week" is scored seperately and then there is an OVERALL leaderboard for an entire season.
Sportsbook is WAGERING (betting) system. You create an event ie Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos, then you create outcomes for members to place wagers on.. ie,
Chiefs ML 120 to 100
Broncos ML 100 to 120
Chiefs -7 110 to 100
Broncos +7 100 to 110
Broncos win coin toss 2 to 1
Chiefs win coin toss 2 to 1
Tim Tebow completes 10 passes 50 to 1
Champ Bailey gets an INT 5 to 1
etc etc etc.. you can create as many outcomes per event as you need to..
Each outcome has its own set of odds (which can be changed). When a member places a wager, that wager is locked in at the odds at the time of the wager.. they can place as many wagers as they want (as long as they have the money). The Event closes when the real event starts. Once the real event is over, you "settle" by checking each winning outcome.. the system does the rest for ya.
Hope that helps...
