Slider , category item arrangement,....

Showcase
Hi,
I would like to suggest some more useful features for future versions of showcase:
1. Slider for items dislaying at forum homepage: all items are now static at homepage, they look not attractive and so boring
2. Parent categories and child ones should be distinguished in position, not the same column as current state:
Category.JPG
3. Option to automatically create sub-forum/child forum to contain/store new threads of a specific member, when other members want to see which threads created by the showcase's owner --> just click on that tab and see (Currently, there's an option to automatically create new thread at a defined sub-forum when creating new showcase item)

Thanks

Depends on which version you are on.

If you upgraded to the most recent version of Showcase, there are now THREE different Category Navigation Types to choose from (Basic, Basic Expanded and Collapsible)

Selection_470.png

BASIC

Basic is exactly like the XFRM. It only displays the Top Level Categorys on Showcase Home (just like it only displays the Top Level Category's on Resources Home). On Category Pages, it exposes the First Level of Sub Category's for the Parent Category. When you click on a sub category, it will expose that category's children. You have to drill down to each level.

On SC Home, only the Top Level (ROOT) category's are exposed.

When you go to a Category, the first level of sub categories for the parent are displayed (Parent is Vehicles, subs are Ford, Dodge, Chevy).

BASIC EXPANDED

Basic Expanded is simply the full category tree expanded.

This is Showcase Home with Basic Expanded enabled. The entire Tree is exposed.
Selection_464.png

It looks the same on Category Pages, cept the viewing category is BOLD
Selection_467.png

COLLAPSIBLE

Collapsible allows you to drill down the tree without having to render pages.

BASIC (which is what the XFRM uses) has been in place for 4+ years now.
