Showcase Homepage category layout

Hi,
Is it possible to customise the showcase homepage so that it displays items by category?
This way, the users can view the different categories and some of the respective items, rather than having items from different categories mixed together.

You'd have to do some modification to the controller (which requires knowledge of php and xf architecture) as well as come up with some sort of system of letting the viewing user choose a particular category. Its not something that can be done with a couple lines of code.

I'd be interested in this too. I like the idea of a user being able to select through the different categories and having the respective categories reviews showing directly via the homepage over the current system of sorting reviews by category.

yeah im also in favour of this. hopefully someone with PHP skills is able to help, or maybe Bob can assist in implementing this solution
