Resolved Question on migrating data

Sportsbook
Hello,

I had a catastrophic failure on my instance that I was running on AWS. Then I spent 3 months in the hospital and lost all backups. I had to get things back in line so what I did was fire up a new instance, install the latest XenForo then install the newest sportsbook. I then used the import tool to grab the other database and bring it over. I didn't have the data directories either. Still blown away it worked.

Anyway as you can imagine the sportsbook data did not come over. I still have that db running that does have it I just need to figure out the best approach in getting the data moved.

Thoughts?

You mean the XF to XF Importer? If so, that is only for XF data, not addons. IIRC, XenForo Media Gallery recently added an XFMG to XFMG importer so I may look into that and see how much work is involved developing Addon X to Addon X importers as well (it won't be anytime soon however).

The one option I know that would probably work is contacting Ken aka "MySiteGuy" as he does importing professionally and I bet he can help you out (not sure of price tho). If USER ID's didn't change, that makes things A LOT easier for a custom import.

If something else comes to mind, I will let you know ASAP :)

Hey thanks Bob!

OK i'll try that. thankfully usernames didn't change, or user numbers and bringing over the data worked fine. I will contact MySiteGuy

You MIGHT be able to get away with just coping all the sportsbook tables if usernames and user id's didn't change (as long as the sportsbook version that you installed on the new site is the same exact version as on the old DB. I am sure that is the first thing that Ken would check out as that would be the easiest way of doing things.

yeah that's the bummer part. they aren't the same version. I was a couple revs behind.
