1. does ams support selectable images for cover art like xenporta does? If not, how much would custom development cost?
2. does this addon have tags & multiple prefix functions on the landing article page
3. with prefixes/tags, is it possible to add tags/multi-prefix to the landing article page

I will be purchasing premium ams next paycheck.

AMS has a Cover Image System, but its not based on someone else's add-on, it is a bespoke system that I developed 11+ years ago for Showcase and use it in all of my addons. The System includes features like being able to set a Cover Image by choosing one of the uploaded Image Attachments (and can be changed at any time). It also has fall backs in the case the article does not have any uploaded image attachments (will check to see if a Category Image has been set and use that as the Cover Image).

Example, here is an existing article and as you can see in the More options drop down, there is a link titled "Set cover image".

Clicking on that link launches an overlay that allows you to choose one of the uploaded image attachments. You can also control whether or not that cover image is displayed above the article text (disabled by default).

that's good but what about 2. does this addon have tags & multiple prefix functions on the landing article page
3. with prefixes/tags, is it possible to add tags/multi-prefix to the landing article page

2. does this addon have tags
Yes, AMS implements 2 Tags Handlers (Core XF Tags Handler), one for Articles and one for Series. This is the Core XF Tags system that is standardized for any addon to implement. There are AMS permissions that control who can tag AMS content. It works and behaves the same as Threads, Resources Media etc..

2. does this addon have multiple prefix functions on the landing article page
Core XenForo does not have a Multi Prefix System. AMS has a Prefix System that is 100% the same as Thread Prefixes and Resource Prefixes. Core XF includes standardized Prefix code/templates/macros.

Xon has a 3rd party add-on that adds multi-prefix support to Threads (and IIRC, to the XenForo Resource Manager), however, his add-on does not (yet) have built in support for AMS. Its on Xon's todo list, but don't expect it any time soon.

3. with prefixes/tags, is it possible to add tags/multi-prefix to the landing article page
AMS uses the Core XF Tags System (implements 2 Tags Handlers, one for Articles and one for Series). The behaviors are the same as Threads and Resources and they are displayed in the same manner as Threads and Resources.
