As per title...
There is a new Showcase option "Enable search block on showcase index" which is enabled by default (so you will need to disable if you don't want it displayed).
The search block on Showcase Index searches all items across all categories.
The search block on Showcase Category Pages searches all items within the Category Tree for items in that category.
Note: The wording on the block is Phrased, so you can change it to whatever you want.
