Currently, no. With that said, I do have plans for the XF 2.3 version of AMS to have a Convert Article to Thread function. It wouldn't be automatic tho.
If you have a lot of threads that you'd want converted, then you might want to check with Ken aka "MySiteGuy" (that is his username at xenforo.com) to see if he has an importer from Threads to AMS (he's done quite a few imports of content of various types into AMS). Super nice guy to chat with.

AMS now has a feature that lets you convert a THREAD to an AMS Article. You can read more about the feature here: Implemented - [Beta] Convert Thread to Article
