Ok, I know I'm going to feel like an idiot once someone points out how to do this, but I can't find how to change the name / location of the AMS Home Directory / Folder.

    example:

    www.mysite.com/ams
    to
    www.mysite.com/articles

I was expecting it to be the first setting in the ACP, like: admin.php?ams-options/

    ... but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Its not a Directory/Folder, its a ROUTE

AMS comes with a Route Filter pre added, however, it comes disabled (so it doesn't conflict with the very common term 'article').

You can either just enable the one that is preadded OR create your own.

    Admin CP >> Home >> Options/Setup >> Route Filters.

As mentioned, I add a Route Filter as part of the initial install. All you need to do is enable it (as it sounds like you want the route to be 'articles').

ACP > Route Filters > Create Route Filter

    and then

    Find Route: ams/
    Replace With: articles/
