Answered Bulk create threads for items

This question is aimed at CAS and RMS mainly, but it is probably a general query.

When I started the forum, I didn't create categories to autocreate discussion threads in.

But in hindsight I have realized that that was a bad call.

Can I bulk create these threads now? I think I remember that I can add thread ID's to existing items.

But it would be good if I can use the automation even if it is after that fact and add the threads for older items in some categories.

I looked at the bulk update in ACP, but I do not think that it will help me with this...

Just FYI, associated discussion threads in ALL of my addons are Thread Types (XF Standard set by XenForo Resource Manager) and all have the same basic behaviors and functions.

Any piece of content that implements a Thread Type (AMS Article, UBS Blog Entry, RMS Item, Showcase Item, IMS Item, LD Item, CAS Ad, Sportsbook Event, EMS Event, EMS Venue) that does NOT have an associated discussion thread, can ADD one as long as it is in a Category that is configured to auto create an associated discussion thread.

This is a Per piece of Content Feature. Its not designed to BULK add associated threads to content that does not have an associated thread.

You can also associate and existing thread with a piece of content that does not have an associated thread. Again tho, the category that the piece of content is in, needs to be configured to auto create associated threads when a new piece of content is created.

Its really easy to use, but it is only a per piece of content feature, not a BULK feature (either in inline moderation or batch update [content type].

Thanks. That sounds good. The problem is that I can't find that dialog in CAS. I have "Change discussion thread". But the alternatives are few.1743660807023.png

I can see the checkbox in RMS though, so I have gotten closer. There are a forum category added now, so that part is enabled. And I tried to rebuild the cache for CAS categories and threads. But that hasn't helped. I have looked over the permissions too, but it seems all is enabled there as well.
