When a article gets posted to the thread forum. Can the thread link goto the article instead of the forum for a discussion? Currently you have to click on the thread, then to the forum post and finally click on the article which then it will take you to the article. 3 step process. Would like it to be a 1 step process to the article.

Thanks,

I am not sure what you mean by this? An AMS Article is a piece of content that is owned by an AMS Category. AMS Articles are posted in AMS Categories, not a FORUM. If an AMS Article is in an AMS Category that is configured to create an Associated Discussion Thread in a Forum, then an Associated Discussion Thread is created in a specific forum.

Can the thread link goto the article instead of the forum for a discussion?
No. A Forum is a listing of Threads. Clicking on the Thread Title takes the viewing user to the THREAD. That is a basic function of XenForo itself. AMS doesn't have any control of that (nor does XFRM that also has associated discussion threads).

Currently you have to click on the thread, then to the forum post and finally click on the article which then it will take you to the article. 3 step process. Would like it to be a 1 step process to the article.
If you are viewing a FORUM, which is a listing of THREADS, then yes, you have to do multiple clicks to get to a piece of content that is associated with that thread. That is just how associated discussion threads work.

The PRIMARY way to get to AMS content is via the AMS Tab, AMS Index Page, AMS Category Pages, AMS Find New (which is a Core XF function).

It sounds to me like you are asking me to change the LINK to a THREAD in a FORUM to take the viewing user to the Piece of Content (AMS Article, RMS Item, XFRM Resource etc) instead of the Thread. If that is what you are asking, the answer is no. Doing that would mean that one could NEVER view the associated discussion thread as the link to the associated thread would always redirect to the article which makes NO SENSE to even have an associated thread created in the first place.

Maybe I am miss understanding what you are asking for?

I want the created thread to be a link to the article. Not a discussion about the article. You already have comments for articles. I don't see a reason to have 2 different discussions in 2 different areas. If this isn't possible I totally understand.

I want the created thread to be a link to the article.
That is not possible.

AMS has a lightweight comments system AS AN OPTION for Admins that prefer a comments system.

AMS also has Associated Discussion threads AS AN OPTION for Admins that prefer the XFRM style associated discussion thread for comments.

This gives Admins a choice to use one or the other (unlike XFRM and XFMG that force one system on all).

Its not designed for you to enable BOTH comments and associated threads.

If you prefer to use comments, then edit your categories and UNSET the create associated discussion threads option and then edit all of your existing articles and then detach the associated threads.
