Not Planned [XF1] Items to appear in the nav bar menu

    I would LOVE for the items that area created in showcase to start appearing in the showcase menu from the nav bar. Is this even possible? I suspect not. But i would love for the showcase navbar to have categories listed, and when you hover over them, the items to be displayed which are in that category.

    Ok mate here i go...


    Say we have 2 categories. The showcase navigation drop down would show...

    Showcase
    -> Category 1
    -> Category 2

    Now say i create an item for Category 1, the item should be displayed in the navbar as well...i.e.

    Showcase
    -> Category 1
    ->-> Item 1
    -> Category 2

    Does that make sense? Right now we have...
    Showcase
    -> Marked Viewed
    -> Search Showcase etc
    ...


    I want to simply make it clean and remove all those. Simply list the categories and the items from the drop down.

    That isn't possible without a TON of modification to both core XF and Showcase (and I am talking A LOT of code).

    The "dropdown" is the same as the secondary navigation links on the active tab... (as you can see from the 2 images, they are the SAME links, same order). These links are located in a template that the core XF Navigation System uses. You'd have to modify that system and write a shit ton of code to even do what you are talking about.

    yeah i understand, hence why i knew it was a far fetched idea.

    How about a block above 'share this page' on the right that lists out all the other items in the category?

    You are going to have to be more specific. I don't know which PAGE you are referring to. Showcase is a LARGE addon with several different areas each controlled by their own Controller/View. You need to be very specific.. ie, Showcase Item Page sidebar or Category's Pages Sidebar or Tags Page Sidebar (all of those examples have their own independent controller)
