Just want to suggest this option, that moderators be able to set each item (with a checkbox while editing an item or in item tools dropdown) to be watched by users by default. And users be alerted for any comment and ... of that item. And if they want not to watch it, then they can un-watch it.
We have some really important items that we need to be sure that all users will be alerted for any changes or comments or reviews of them. But we have no way to get all users to watch them.
