Showcase HomePage: Show Categories instead of Items?

Is this possible? I can't seem to make it happen.

I dont want Items listed in the Grid View. I want all my categories listed instead.

That would require custom development. There is no option for that. It would require modification to the Controller (PHP) as well as major modification to the index template.

This is actually a very common layout view that you see on many websites. Often but not always in combination with other views. For example a block of category listing with a grid view block or a news view block under it. I was going to suggest this. Some examples:

I was planning to search for additional better examples but am limited in capabilities atm.

For example a listing of product categories, geographical locations, types of companies. When there are a lot of categories then it makes sense to have a category listing.

Its not possible in the software. If you want it then it needs to be suggested. Bob listens to feedback and suggestions and im-plements those that are popular and make sense.
