I want to associate a thread to 2 items.

But I get an error:
The Discussion Thread you are attempting to associate with this item is currently associated with another item. Discussion Threads can only be associated to a single item. Please enter a different Thread Id or leave blank to not associate the item with a Discussion Thread.

It would nice if it was possible.

This is NOT possible. The architecture of the associated thread is a ONE to ONE relationship. There is code built into the addon to prevent this (ON PURPOSE).
