Implemented Make Description Optional

Sometimes the title of the Event is self explanatory, and doesn't need a description. Would be nice to have that optional, or default to copying the Title as the Description.

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
I'll change the behavior to optional. Working on Sportsbook right now, so might as well just knock this out really quick :D

Something else that might be nice to quickly add events is to make the default status of new events configurable. Right now, they go to pending, but it would be nice to set an option in the admin to say all new events should default to "open".

Unless there is a reason they have to go to pending status first. Maybe because the "open" time hasn't arrived yet?

As long as I'm rambling, I'd also like to see the initial "Event Settles After Date" default to whatever the "Event Close Date" is set to. Right now, all the dates default to the current date/time.

Never mind about the date default, seems its a date picker limitation.

The reason for pending is that its a two step process (which was one of the key points when building it). When you first create an event, there are no outcomes. I hated the way vBookie worked that you had to "publish" everything right away and you couldn't work on it, thats why I specifically built it to be a 2 step process with the initial create being a pending status (which is really a draft status). You could modify the process (one simple edit) to make the event live, but then its published to everyone without anything to place wagers on since there are no outcomes.

Im going to get rid of that "settle after" thing as it isn't really used for anything and is just a left over vbookie option that wasn't used for vbookie either lol

Sportsbook will be getting a major facelift and new functionality starting in a few months, so evaluate the heck out of it and feel free to toss in as many suggestions as you and your members can come up with now matter how wild lol I've got a list started already of things I personally want to do (and a ton of code that I want to re write after almost 2 years of learning).

There isn't a standard feed that would work for everyone. Some sites are pure 1 sport based, others don't even use it for sports. I've thought about finding a couple decent Odds Feeds to create some "popular" wagers that people can use as tools to help create, but there just is not any decent feeds. The ones available suck and are not reliable. Its a pretty competitive business as each sets their own odds to compete against one another.

I like the way the "pending" status works now that I play with it a bit more. You can save an event as pending, create the outcomes, review everything, then set the status to "open" all on the same page.

Description is now optional and can be added and removed at any point during an events lifetime.
