Not sure if this should go in suggestions and these aren't by any stretch of the imagination things I think the product is lacking, but I wondered if it would be worthwhile for busy communities to have the ability to assign users with permission to manage games?

That way, score entry and fixture population could be done by willing community members without admin permissions?

Similarly, is there any value in a results import? to save on busy pools manual entry?

From what I have seen, and done with Bob, you can actually set it to where a user has access to do just that. They will of course have access to the Admin CP, but the only thing they would be able to see/edit/use is the Pick'Em area.

If this is something you are interested in, let me know, I will scour my messages and find where/how he showed me to do so.

Sound good to me, would be fantastic if you wouldn't mind looking that out for me :)

I can probably toss in a few more Administrative Permissions to allow finer control over some of the Administrative tasks.

Hi guys, any chance I could get the details on the above?

Thanks :)

you have to give them access to the Admin CP, however, when you set individual admin privs, you only give them access to managePickem or manageSportsbook (which ever addon(s) you want. They won't be able to do anything else. I do this with my pickem and sportsbook helpers.

Apologies for being incredibly dense and forcing you to type that.... Makes total sense.... /me shakes himself.

Just updated to 1.0.0 :), all good that I can see, didn't even have to update my modified phrases/templates.

Thanks!

Here was the original "walkthrough" Bob gave me, which worked perfectly....

Create a dummy user, then make that dummy user an admin by clicking on Users Tab ->> Administrators ->> Create New Administrator .... type in your password... type in the dummy users name and do not check anything else (none of the groups or none of the permissions). Hit save..

Then log out and log in with the dummy account.. You will see a blank admin CP home page (because you don't have any permissions). You will see the tabs Home, Applications and Tools. Click on Applications... You will see Pickem and the 2 management links. Try click on them... you will get an error, because you don't have permission to use them. Click on Tools... there are 2 things on there and you can't do anything with either...... now, log out and log back in... go to users ->> administrators ->> click on the dummy user... this time check (lower right) "Manage Pickem" ... log out, log back in with dummy and guess what, now that user can manage pickem.

Oh, I am sure you can replace "dummy" user with whatever member you plan to give the perms to (and skip the login and logout step). Either way, the method above does work, I tested it immediately after he sent it to me.

lol... its all good.. don't feel dense ;) so yer all set then?

All set thanks, my only issue arose when I then realised that the helpers I'd assigned were classed as an admin user and therefore appeared in my Staff Online block, but changing this to more specific groupings got around that one :)

Now, if only I could find a way to see how many have made predictions before we sort the first results :D

Edit - Actually, workaround.... just looked in the database tables :D
