how CTA Featured Threads/Portal will be integrated with AMS?

You can add articles to FT pages. So you can have both articles and featured threads on the same page.

CTA is NOT integrated with AMS. AMS has built in integration with CTA (there is a HUGE difference). The integration allows AMS content to be exposed and displayed on the CTA PORTAL Page (and ONLY on the CTA PORTAL). There are 5 (FIVE) AMS content blocks that can be exposed to CTA FT PORTAL.

The first block is the Latest Article TICKER. You can choose the display location and which categories to pull content from.

This next on is for the Articles SLIDER. As you can see, it has A LOT of options. You can choose the display location, the sort order they are fetched, several misc options and again, choose with categories article are fetched from.

This one is similar to the above, cept its NOT a SLIDER, its a listing of articles. Again, you choose a display location, however, in this one, you choose the LAYOUT (List View, Grid View, Article View, News View or News View II) in which to display the content. It has most of the same misc options as the one above and also a category chooser.

This one is your basic "Tabbed" content sidebar block. You choose the content tabs that you want to display, whether to display the Title Preview (that is when you mouse over the title), Whether to fetch the thumbnail (extra query), whether to display the snippet of content (and if so, the snippet length) and the number of articles to fetch for each tab. Just like the others, there is also a Category chooser.

NOTE: You will see under the Category Choose an option to display the Featured Authors Sidebar Block.... this is its own block and has nothing to do with the Tabbed Article Block.

And here is an EXAMPLE (just demo dummy data with various options settings so you can get an idea of what I am talking about)

No. As mentioned above, AMS has some built in integration that allows AMS content to be exposed to the CTA FT PORTAL.

If FT has bd Widgets then you could place such widgets anywhere you like.

Sorry to bump an old one, but can you import from CTA FT into > AMS?

No, however, AMS does have a Convert Thread to Article function which would allow you to convert those threads to articles.

Did you see that you can do that in BULK via inline moderation? In case you didn't find that yet and have been doing it one by one.

Ooh no, I didn't notice. But will do so now to save a load of work while I build it all up. Thanks for the advice! :)
