For long articles and especially on mobile devices would be useful to be able to toggle and collapse content sections. An article usually has multiple Headings with a area of text under it. It would be useful if the user could click on the heading to toggle and open / close the section. This could work in accordion style:

It would solve the issue of presenting large articles on devices with small displays.

XF 2.3 adds anchors to Headings. I'm not sure if this makes implementing this any easier.

This would be a XenForo suggestion as you are asking about one of the RTE bbcode functions (headers) and it would apply to any content type that uses the RTE and uses the header bbcodes.

As for long articles, AMS has Article Pages (you suggested it). One of the main purposes of Article Pages is to take LONG articles and break them up into multiple pages with a Table of Contents and Next | Previous navigation links.

Marking this as "Not considered" due to XF 2.4 including a new RTE as well as the fact that I don't manipulate core BBCode behaviors in any of my addons.
