Calendar/date fields

Is there a way for Showcase to handle date/calendar fields on items and be able to sort in chronological order, etc.?

For instance, we have a category of items where a field will be "Visit date" and would like to be able to show a list of visit dates over that category.

Are you asking if you can SORT the Showcase Index by the value of a custom item field? If so, the answer to that would be no (as there is no code in Showcase that would make that possible). If that isn't what you are asking, can you please clarify exactly what it is that you are trying to sort?

Would be cool to be able sort categories / the main sc index by items that contain a date field and also have the ability to set a default sort option for this on a per-category basis.

Thanks Bob. I've voted.. Not that I'm confident much will change

I'd love it if they could pick up a lot of the older suggestions with many votes. Some of them are small, but handy and worthwhile changes to core.
