Is the Showcase permission based on categories or global? Thanks!

Category Permissions only apply to the specific Category. Global Permissions apply to all non category pages.

They come in super handy giving you fine control over specific categories. In the Admin CP, Click on Showcase Categories and you will see on the Category list a link to permissions. Clicking on that takes you to a view with all your user groups. Click on the specific user group you wish to set permissions on for that category and then a listing of Showcase permissions will come up. Set (or revoke) the specific permissions and save. Do the same for other user groups if you need to. Rinse and repeat for each category that you need to fine tune.
