CAS - set user for auto-generated posts

On my forum, I have a robot user ("octobot") assigned to any system-generated threads in my forums (e.g., RSS feeds, etc.). As CAS makes ample use of auto-generated posts and threads, I'd like to assign this user to all such posts (it currently associated with the creator of the thread). Perhaps the default could be "Creator of ad" but there could be an option to set it to a specific user.

I've turned this down at least a dozen times across multiple addons. I highly doubt that I will consider this as Core XF, XFRM and XFMG do not do this (auto generated content is always posted on behalf of the content owner by XF, XFRM and XFMG, which is the standard that I follow).

The only exception to this is RSS Feeds, where you can set a bot name as the curator.

Anyway... if this is something you NEED, then I'd suggest pursuing custom development as this is most likely going to be marked as "Not considered".

I must not be using the XFMG capability for this (I do have media attached in a forum post automatically create an image in XFMG, if that's what you're referring to, but that's a bit different as it's media-oriented post vs. a "message." I don't use XFRM (yet).

I like the CAS options for auto-posting (e.g. start a discussion when an add is created, and post a reply when the ad is closed). However, it's obviously system-generated messaging (i.e., the language itself is the essence of the post) and so when these things happen, I'll manually use a separate "change author" add-on which allows me to assign any forum post to any user. It was particularly noticeable when I used the "CAS convert thread to ad" feature for a thread that was in the forum. I haven't looked for it but I'm sure I could also customize the phrase to add something like "This is an auto-generated message" to the end of these posts.
