Auto/Mass populate Discussion Thread Id

Is it possible to get/use and SQL that will go through all Showcase items without an existing thread assigned, and if so check the Forum used for "Create Thread in Forum" for the most recent thread created by the Showcase Item user, and then assign that thread ID to the ShowCase item?

Will save having to do it all manually, and will be much easier to check (or advise users to check) to make sure the discussion topic auto picked is relevant to their item.

You can't do it with just an SQL statement as there is just way to much involved, plus you need to also you PHP logic. There is also the case of multiple users (if one user has multiple showcase items) which puts a rather large kink into the process. I can't say that its "Not possible", because I believe (in theory) that it could be done. However, I couldn't even begin to give you an idea how long it would take for me to come up with a solution that I would use in a production environment.

How many items are we talking about?
