Yes, its the final score of the game/match that you enter into those inputs.
Once a game/match has completed, you edit the game/match and add the final score of the game/match. eg here are some final scores of premier soccer (which a goal is a score and you get 1 point per goal, so the final score would be the amount of goals each team scored). Each sport has its own scoring system, but ALL team sports have a final score.
Team A: 1
Team K: 4
Team G: 0
Team F: 0
Team L: 0
Team X: 3
The reason its default to -1 is that 0 is an actual score value that a team could end up with (for example, if a soccer team doesn't score any goals, that teams final score is 0). The system can not differentiate 0-0 (game has not been played yet) with 0-0 (game ended in TIE/DRAW with no points scored), so -1 is used as a way for the system to know that the game has not yet been scored and for a game/match to be able to end in a 0-0 tie/draw and be PROCESSED as a completed game.
