Exclude Sold/Closed Ad Statuses from Search Results

Current Situation​

  • Quick search and XF search currently display all ads (Closed, Sold, and Open)
  • This creates problems with frequently sold items (e.g., Ford F150, Honda Accord)
  • With approximately 20 Honda listings sold daily, after 4 days there are 80 sold/closed listings still appearing in quick search results
  • Currently using thread prefixes [sold][closed][deleted] to organize/remove threads, but CAS ads still appear in search results

Working Features​

  • The CAS Search Filter & Advanced Search form defaults to showing only open ads
  • This is the desired behavior

Problem​

  • Users who utilize quick search or "search everything" function see all listings (including Sold & Closed) until they expire
  • This creates confusion and a poor user experience

Suggestion​

  • Update the quick filter to exclude sold and closed listings by default
  • Users who specifically want to see sold/closed listings can use the CAS or Advanced search filters
