Implemented Use Week Stop Date for Game Lock date/time on Game Create Form

This might be impossible because the structure is very close to Pickem etc but it would be helpful if we could set a time and date for a week and all games took that time.

I realise some games could have different start times but in my case I want everyone to pick before the first game kicks off anyway. So ideally I would set the time for gameweek 1 and then set the reminder time to -48 hours and all games in that week would lock at the same time. It would make things far quicker to update, particularly if we have a few games going at the same time.

Currently, when you create a game, it pre adds in the date that you added for the START DATE (I don't think the time is preset tho). In theory, you can set the start date to what ever date you want to, create all the games based on that, then edit the week and set the start date back to where it should be. I MAY change from using the start data to the week stop date and will definitely add the TIME. That would be useful in your situation where you can set the week stop date/time and when you create games, it will be prefilled with that.

Ah I never noticed that. That's a helpful workaround anyway. Either of those changes (the time, or the stop date) would make it even more straightforward. Thanks Bob

Definitely going to add the TIME (to pickem as well). Going to go through my notes and see if there was a reason for using the Start date vs Stop date for the default and if I can't find anything, will change to using the Stop Date as that makes more sense to me.

Looks like it can be done with a simple template edit if you want to try it out...

You'll need to put your site into DEBUG MODE as that is the only way to access the Admin Templates via the Development Tab in the Admin CP. Send me an inbox if you are interested and I will explain what you need to do.

This has been implimented and will be available in the next release.

The Date & Time on the Game Create form is prefilled in by the Week STOP Date instead of the Week START Date. A simple yet powerful change that will definitely speed up the adding of games (specially for those that lock all games for the week at the same time).

NOTE: This in NO WAY takes away anything from anyone. It simply uses the Stop Date for the prefill instead of the start date.

NOTE 2: You can use this to your advantage by setting the week stop date to say 1pm sunday, create the games, then edit the week and set the Week Stop date to Monday Night (before the start of MNF).

    Brilliant news Bob.

If the next release is going to be in a matter of days then I can wait for that. If it's longer I'll start a conversation with you to get the required changes.

PS Just a thought, but might the same idea be helpful for the Pickem discussion http://addons.nfljunkies.com/threads/easy-game-adding.1026/ - if the structures are similar enough?

Probably won't be another release until a bug pops up.

I made the change in Pickem as well.
