Someway to share a user's portfolio?

Maybe this is a suggestion, but as a regular user, I can't seem to find a way to share a link to my personal portfolio. Stock Trader uses the stocktrader home as "Your Portfolio", but how would a user share there link with other people without deciphering it with their userid, or if somebody found the link on the list of Top Portfolios?

The "Your Portfolio" is a completely different PAGE (Controller) than the user portfolio pages.

Users that own at least 1 share of 1 stock will have a public portfolio page (unless they mark it PRIVATE). The URL to that is standardized.... stocktrader/portfolio/username.userId (you don't need the username in the URL for it to work).

All anyone would need to do is replace the standard XF User Profile route (members) with (stocktrader/portfolio) like this:

NOTE: if the member doesn't have a portfolio, it will redirect the viewing user to stock trader home.

Yes, I understand that, I've seen some people try to share their portfolio by using the URL to the stocktrader home page, that's how I noticed it, then I realized that there isn't really a good link they could use to share it without getting their userid.

Could their portfolio be added as a tab on their member card?

Certainly CAN add a tab to a members profile. I don't think adding an entire portfolio would be appropriate tho (some members have 1000's of stocks). I'd be open to adding a Tab with the same info as on the top of the users Portfolio page along with the link to their portfolio (if its PUBLIC).

You could also create a BBCODE for members to use in posts.

Whatever takes you the most time, that'd be great :)

I think a simple link on the member card (with option to display it) would be adequate.

Also, another question. When 2 users buy the same stock, there is one thread created and updated for that stock, rather than 2 separate threads. Is that the intended behavior, or should it create 2 threads? Just curious.

The thread is for the Stock Symbol, not the user, so yes, it is as designed. When someone purchase shares of a stock and the discussion threads functionality is enabled, it first checks to see if there is an existing thread for that stock symbol and if there is, it just adds a new post to the thread, if one doesn't exist, it creates a new thread for that stock symbol.

To add to it.... when there is an existing thread, a button (link) to that thread will be included in the stock symbol "Look Up". Members can then quick access discussion pertaining to that Stock Symbol
