Uploading an image to Showcase I can see:
File Constraints: Max Allowed File Size: 500 KB

I think is a little misleading because the 500KB limit is calculated after the file is uploaded.
My image was 1.2MB on my computer and then resized to 200k on the server, so I got no problem uploading.

Yes, the system does EVERYTHING it can to get the images uploaded as possible. How is that a BAD thing? If the image CAN be resized to a size that the system allows, it will attempt to do so. It will only be rejected IF it can't be resized.

Maybe a user will not try to upload because the image that want to upload weight more than 500kb... But maybe average user will not even know what KBs are! :)

Its been that way for FIVE YEARS now. And when is the last time a user read something and NOT tried lol its just the opposite, they will TRY without reading and when it fails, they will ask why, and then you will point out that the file they are trying to upload is too large and can't be resized.
