Implemented Links to individual company stock symbols

There doesn't appear to be a way to share links to individual stock symbols from the "popular stocks" page, because xF only accepts POST actions rather than GET actions such as...

This limitation prevents people from sharing links to stock symbols where members can purchase shares.

Is there a way to fix that?

Those are not "links" to actual pages. Those URLs are used in conjunction with javascript to perform AJAX inserts into the page and are triggered by a javascript onClick event. Im not changing the way that works.

I am open to adding another action to the index controller that will display just a single stock. Urls would look something like this: http://localhost/XF-Dev/stocktrader/stock&symbol=AAL.L These Links can be added to the stock data (maybe under the big blue purchase button).. doesn't matter, just somewhere. Might even make a BBCODE that could be used in Posts that you could do something like [stock]FB[/stock] and it would generate a link to facebook stock.

I moved this to suggestions and marked as considered as its easy to add, doesn't effect anything else (cept the addition of a link in each stocks content). Doesn't bloat the addon in anyway..

Thanks, yeah, if there can just be a function to share links to stock symbols. No need to change the way the popular stocks page works.

Right now, if you want to suggest a symbol to somebody, you have to use a Yahoo or Google Finance link.

You can now direct link to a Symbol simply by appending the symbol URL param (&symbol=AAPL) to the stock trader route (see URL in the image below). As you can also see, you are also able to purchase stock directly from this page as well as go directly to an associated discussion thread (if one exists) and directly to your Portfolio.
