Not Planned Item Fields: Opening Hours / Open NOW

    For any business/restaurant listing have an operation hours field for the days of the week would be essential.
    I have been checking similar functionality out and I like how easy Google makes it to quickly update multiple days.
    I also like how Google tells the user that a business is open now or closing soon.

    To elaborate on this. This would need an easy interface to add opening hours for every day of the week.
    For example:
    Monday 9:00 - 18:00
    Tuesday 9:00 - 18:00
    Wednesday 9:00 - 18:00
    Thursday 9:00 - 18:00
    Friday 9:00 - 20:00
    Saturday 11:00 - 18:00
    Sunday Closed

    Then a function that checks the current time and displays a 'open status' message like:
    OPEN NOW
    CLOSING SOON
    CLOSED
    OPENING SOON

    To display in the sidebar, as well as the item listing / SC home / category.

    I'd also be very happy to see an option in the bd widget renderer for featured items to show 'open' status.

    Exactly what we need.
    First we created two (multiple choice) filed for Days and Hours.
    And when user submit the item, the result was this:

    But we wanted to have exactly what you suggested: Which days and each day which hours they work. (So we didn't reach our goal)
    Nice suggestion. Hope to be implemented once @Bob have free time.

    I've already informed Alfa1 (privately) that this won't be happening. He is pursuing the proper way of doing customization by getting an addon developed to hand this. Custom Fields are for LOW LEVEL handling of non complex content.

    With that said, you CAN use "Self Placement" custom fields to create multiple fields and then place them where ever you want and format the display however you want. There is information on how to do this in the support forum.

    This is something I am interested in as well and I started a conversation with Alfa. Just a question though that this presents. Is/will there a place that one could sell or buy additional custom add-ons to Showcase here or on xF? Obviously, that is someone's choice to share or not, but if Alfa did have this made and was will to sell it, where would someone find it?

    I have not yet commissioned this addon to be created. Anyone who has interest in getting this created should contact me so we can share the costs. I am interested in sharing costs, not in commercial reselling.

    Just a follow-up. I am working on getting this done at the moment. If I can do that, I will share with everyone. This was my basic mockup.

    It will probably look something like this. I am also working on a more complex one dealing with RSS feeds and an audio player. Just wanted to put this here in case you guys are still looking for extending Showcase out further.
